Coconut Oil, Can it Help You Lose Fat?

Coconut oil is one kind of natural oil that is actually composed of ninety percent saturated fats and minimal traces of unsaturated fatty acids. Its most popular variant is the virgin coconut oil. Recently, it has gained popularity because of its useful weight loss benefits. This should be a great aid to your mission to finally work out your six pack abs.
Coconut oil contains short and medium-chain of fatty acids, which is extremely helpful in maintaining ideal weight. Because it is so easily digested, it easily converts into energy. In many ways, it promotes healthy thyroid functions, which is responsible for producing hormones that regulate digestion, natural fat assimilation and growth. It also aids the body's natural process of releasing enzymes, which increases metabolism rate without putting undue stress to the pancreas. Hence, it hastens energy production, which is helpful to obese and overweight individuals who wanted to lose weight. This perhaps explains why the population of the tropical coastal areas has near zero overweight and obesity cases.
Other health benefits of coconut oil is healthy hair, skin, normal blood cholesterol levels, increased immunity, increased energy, relief from stress and many others. To athletes and body builders or individuals who wanted to achieve their training or fitness loss goals, coconut oil makes a good source of oil. Compared other forms of fat sources, it has minimum calories and is good for your heart. As it easily converts to energy, it can improve your endurance and optimize the benefits of your daily training sessions.

  1. Being fat is not genetic. True, your entire family may be overweight but it doesn't mean that you have to be. There are success stories all the time of people overcoming their "genetics" and possibly increasing your chances of rapid fat loss.

    1. Hi Bilgi, There was a report done by the World Health Organization in 2000 on if being overweight or obese is linked to genetics. This report concluded that it is very possible for a person to have one or more gene effects that directly cause them to be overweight or obese. However, this is not the case for the majority of those who have become overweight.
